Mouth of the Tyne Festival – Under 5s Area

As part of the Mouth of Tyne Festival, there is an Under 5s area at Tynemouth Station – it is always a huge success with something for babies, toddlers and children. Family Day Out: The Sill, Northumberland

We took a family trip to The Sill by Hadrian’s Wall on Saturday with a baby, a teenager, parents and grandparents. It’s a beautiful looking building and the roof top garden is fantastic – freezing winds meant we dashed back inside after a few seconds so I’m looking forward to a return visit later. It’s the perfect stop for a cuppa if you have been exploring the wall or you have a buggy and a wheelchair and you want to enjoy the views of the wall from the cafe or the roof.   There are some activities for children and a small gallery – it will be great to see how these develop in the future. Keep an eye on their What’s On Page for some great activities and events in 2019. Parking ranges from £2-£5 and I’ve been told the coffee is delicious – I’ll be popping back with a book when it warms up a bit.   Janine | Birth, Baby & Family
