Birth Preparation for 2nd-time Parents

20190225_195538_0001.pngWhen you are pregnant again, you will need to think about labour and birth again at some point. You might need a refresher, you might need specific information and focus and you might also need to debrief your previous birth experience. I also work with a lot of parents who have experienced babyloss or stillbirth and want to focus on birth again, while managing concerns and anxieties.

Birth preparation when you are pregnant again can be about refreshing your knowledge, talking through any specific concerns as well as focusing on your options and gathering the information you need to feel better prepared.

My antenatal sessions are not only about knowledge and skills – they are also about assertiveness, confidence, having realistic expectations and feeling equipped to cope with the challenges. I aim to better prepare you with your options for straight-forward birth as well as the questions to ask so you know more about your options if you need additional monitoring, an induction or a caesarean when your options could be different.

You can book onto my antenatal course to refresh your knowledge in a small group setting or you can arrange 1:1 sessions…

Birth Preparation for 2nd time parents includes…

  • Birth Debrief – a private session to talk through any issues/concerns relating to your previous birth experience
  • 1:1 Birth Preparation Sessions – private sessions to focus on getting you better prepared for birth again
  • Relax & Breathe sessions – a workshop, course or 1:1 session for you to practise simple but effective breathing skills for labour & birth

You can book these sessions separately or you can book the package of all three to save 10%.

My sessions are about providing good information, practical skills and discussion so you can be better prepared for the birth of your baby and so you can think about your options and what might be helpful for you.

I am a specialist in pregnancy, birth and early parenting – I have worked with expectant parents since 2002 and I have taught antenatal classes almost weekly since 2005.  Due to being NCT-trained and my knowledge, training and experience, I am able to provide information, support and reassurance for all expectant parents.
My sessions are friendly and informal – not like a classroom – with small groups and 1:1 sessions so you can ask questions and gather all the information you need.
In addition to general birth preparation, I specialise in being parent-focused so I can provide support for specific issues such as birth anxiety, giving birth again, being induced, planned caesareans and homebirths. I am a mum of three and I have also worked as a birth doula, so I have attended a number of births.

If you have any queries and to arrange your sessions, just send me a message.
